What to do Now
So you just got your new tattoo, and you're living. You will most likely have a wrap on your tattoo placed by your artist. Try to leave the wrap on for the recommended time given by your artist. You can shower with it on, just no baths, swimming or sweating (so no working out). Within a few days there may be a build up of fluid under your bandage. This is blood, plasma (the clear part of blood), and some extra ink. This will be cleaned up once you give it its first wash.
After the Wrap
Once you've removed your wrap, with clean hands, wash the tattoo with warm water and a fragrance-free soap. Be sure to always pat dry, don't rub. Let the tattoo air dry for 20 minutes and apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer. Your skin might also be red and sore, maybe slightly warm to the touch.
Over the healing process be sure to avoid submerging your tattoo in water (like swimming, showers are ok), too much sun exposure, excessive rubbing... just try not to touch it as much as possible.

The Next Couple Weeks
After you've taken off your wrapping, cleansed and moisturized the tattoo, from that day on for about the next two weeks you will need to clean your tattoo with your fragrance free soap once or twice a day, and apply your moisturizer after each wash.

Your tattoo will become dry, flaky, and itchy as it begins to scab over the next few days. DO NOT pick or scratch at your new tattoo as it's healing, this could result in scars and your tattoo will not heal properly.

Happy Healing!
